Domestic violence charges against freshman Ole Miss DE Charles Wiley have been dismissed, according to The Clarion-Ledger.
Wiley’s lawyer, Steve Farese, told the paper’s Antonio Morales the parties involved do not wish to proceed through the courts regarding the incident that resulted in a July arrest.
“The parties mutually agreed to dismiss the charges and (to) handle this matter privately,” Farese said Thursday morning.
Morales reports that a source at Ole Miss has said Wiley will now be eligible to play.
Wiley, who measures 6-foot-2, 253 pounds, was rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports Composite. During his suspension, coach Hugh Freeze allowed Wiley to practice citing knowledge of the facts of the situation.
The Rebels (1-2) face Georgia on Saturday.
