Louisville linebacker Dorian Etheridge was ejected from the Music City Bowl due to him kicking a Mississippi State player.
Etheridge made the tackle on Bulldogs running back Nick Gibson; however, while laying on the ground, the linebacker kicked a MSU player who appeared to be holding his leg or foot. Etheridge looked like he attempted to get up after making the tackle, but he couldn’t. He then resulted to kicking the player off of his foot. That’s when he was penalized for a personal foul and ejected.

Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield called a timeout following the ejection and chewed out the officials for the call. Broadcasters Jordan Rodgers and Tom Hart questioned the disqualification for several minutes after it happened.
Bulldogs running back Nick Gibson scored two plays later to give MSU a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.
