After undergoing hand surgery, Drew Sanders was forced to miss Alabama’s game at Texas A&M on Oct. 9. The Crimson Tide ultimately lost to the Aggies, 41-38, to see their 19-game winning streak come to an end.
Nick Saban’s team looks to avoid a rare 2nd straight loss as it travels to Starkville to face Mississippi State on Saturday in search of its 14th straight win in the series. During his media availability on Wednesday evening, Saban announced that Sanders would be unavailable for the contest against the Bulldogs as the linebacker’s recovery continues.
“He’s not available this week,” Saban said, according to 247Sports’ Charlie Potter. “He’s out there in pads every day, but it’s not safe for him to use his hand yet.”
Sanders has recorded 14 tackles in 4 games this season, including a tackle for a loss. He has also been credited with 2 pass deflections.
The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs kick off at 7 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN.
