Week 0 of the college football season kicks off overseas on Saturday, as Iowa State and Kansas State meet in Dublin in a clash of two Big 12 teams.

Meeting no. 109 between the Cyclones and Wildcats will be a unique one, regardless of the final score. And as fans and media make their way across the Atlantic to the Emerald Isle, they may have noticed something a little amiss.

As you might expect, Dublin’s pubs are decked out for the occasion, flying the United States flag as well as the flags of each university. At least that’s been the case for Iowa State. K-State, on the other hand, hasn’t been as fortunate.

Iowa State broadcaster Noah Wolf made the trip with the team and spotted this outside Tapped Late Bar and Kitchen. Yes, it’s a Kansas state flag instead of, well, a Kansas State flag:

K-State alum Tyler Stelter noticed the same thing outside The Porterhouse:

The pub owners may deserve a little leeway for this mistake. Still, how wasn’t this picked up on earlier, especially since college football games have been played relatively frequently in Dublin?

Dublin will play host to North Carolina vs. TCU in 2026. Let’s hope they do a little more due diligence when that one rolls around.
