Duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy did not survive Wisconsin’s postgame locker room celebration
So much for this trophy.
Following Wisconsin’s 42-28 win over Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, arguably the most anticipated moment of bowl season occurred as television viewers held their collective breath waiting to find out if Paul Chryst was going to be dosed with mayo after the game.
Unfortunately, there was only water in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl bucket that was dumped on the Wisconsin coach’s head after the win but the Badgers still found a way to make headlines as the Duke’s Mayo Bowl trophy was destroyed during the team’s postgame locker room celebration.
“I’m not under oath, so I don’t know if I have to speak. Just wanted everyone to have a piece of that trophy,” Chryst said after the game.
