In 2016 and 2017, both Joe Burrow and Dwayne Haskins were part of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ QB room.
Obviously, Burrow transferred to LSU in 2018 as Haskins took over as the Buckeyes’ starter. The rest, as they say, is history.
Now, as Burrow prepares to enter the NFL as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, Haskins (who is the starter for the Washington Redskins) said on the Redskins Talk podcast this week that he’s eager to face his former Ohio State teammate (via 247Sports):
“(Y)ou being in that new young group with the guys you mentioned, it’s very exciting,” he said. “Not only that, but it’s also you know all of them. You’ve trained with them before. You’ve worked out with them.
“I mean, I even went to school with Joe for two years. So it’s just crazy to think how far we all came since high school. Now we all get to compete against each other on the biggest stage. Looking forward to it.”
Haskins won’t have to wait long to face his former teammate. The Bengals head to Washington to take on the Redskins on Sunday, Nov. 22. We’ll see who wins that battle of former Buckeyes later on this year.
