Dylan Crews was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals Sunday evening.
Crews needs little introduction, but we’ll give him one anyway. The star LSU outfielder won the 2023 Golden Spikes Award while also leading LSU to a national title alongside Paul Skenes, who was selected No. 1 overall by Pittsburgh.
He wasted no time starting at LSU out of high school, playing in right field from Day 1 in Baton Rouge. His list of accolades since then? In addition to the Golden Spikes Award, Crews was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2023, a first-team All-American and the 2023 SEC Male Athlete of the Year. Crews also cracked the SEC Defensive Team and ABCA Gold Glove Team.
Seems good.

In 2023, Crews hit .426 with 18 home runs, 110 hits, 100 runs and 70 RBI.
He and Skenes are the first teammate duo to go No. 1 and No. 2 in MLB Draft history.
