Dylan Crews continues to receive national recognition, and this time it’s in the form of the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award. The award goes to the nation’s top college baseball hitter, and Crews will be honored at a gala in the fall in Fort Worth.
The award is based on performance at the plate, academics, and personal integrity.
Crews, a junior outfielder from Longwood, Florida, has a .434 batting average, which is 3rd in the nation, with 17 home runs and 67 RBI. He was previously named the SEC Player of the Year, is a consensus All America and is in the mix to be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming MLB Draft.
Beyond his play on the field, Crews was honored for being on the SEC Community Service Team, and recognized for his work with families with physical and mental disabilities in Baton Rouge and with Team Of Dreams in the area.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
