Dylan Crews had an impressive 2023 season. He is being rewarded for his efforts.

Crews was announced as the SEC Male Athlete of the Year on Thursday. Crews bolstered LSU’s national title winning lineup. He batted .426 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI’s for the Tigers.

The news was confirmed by an LSU press release.

The Tigers secured their national title after beating Florida 18-4 on Jun. 26. The series with the Gators went to three games Florida evened the series with a 24-4 win.

It all came down to the final game of the series for the title and LSU stepped up when it needed to the most.

Crews made a solid case for the award after the season he had with LSU. Crews led the SEC in batting average, runs (100), on-base percentage (.567), hits (110), and walks (71).

Crews took home many awards for the 2023 season. Some of them include the 2023 Golden Spikes Winner, First-Team All-SEC, SEC All-Defensive Team, and Consensus First-Team All-American.

There’s no telling if Crews will return to Baton Rouge for another season, but it has been an incredible ride so far.
