It’s tough to imagine a worse start to the season than what Kansas State has done across these past few weeks. And somehow, it’s getting even worse for the Wildcats.

On Saturday morning, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Edwards will miss Saturday afternoon’s matchup against Army. Here’s the report:

This is effectively the 3rd straight game Edwards will miss, though he technically saw action in Week 0 against Iowa State. Edwards was injured after muffing a punt ahead of what would have been Kansas State’s first offensive possession of the season – just 3 minutes into the game.

Kansas fell to Iowa State, then barely outlasted North Dakota last week. In Week 2 they’ll have their hands full with a tough Army squad – though one that fell to Tarleton State in Week 1 after gaining some buzz this past offseason.

And certainly, Edwards could have helped in Week 1 and 2. The former Colorado transfer is a dynamic rusher and dangerous in the return game as well. He totaled 546 yards rushing last season with the Wildcats following a 321-yard rushing season his freshman year in Boulder.

The Wildcats will face the Black Knights at 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
