All-SEC linebacker Dylan Moses says he played nearly the entire season with torn meniscus
If Dylan Moses was a First-Team All-SEC performer after dealing with a torn meniscus most of the season, just imagine how productive he would have been at full strength.
During his last season in Tuscaloosa, Moses racked up 76 tackles with a sack and an interception for Alabama’s defense and was honored as a First-Team All-SEC selection by the league’s coaches.
Now comes word that Moses accomplished all of that despite battling through a torn meniscus suffered against Ole Miss back on Oct. 10. Moses shared this information and revealed he had surgery in early February to repair the meniscus during his Monday media availability.
“It happened, I believe, in the third game of the season,” Moses said regarding the injury on Monday according to Michael Casagrande of AL.com. “That’s when I really started feeling it. It was said it was a bone bruise but it kept bothering me throughout the year and I just never really spoke up about it.
“I’m the type of person that, if I’m in pain or something, I never want to leave the field so I just didn’t say anything about it.”
Moses missed the entire 2019 season after suffering a season-ending injury during fall camp. Considering he returned to Alabama to improve his stock after missing all of his junior season, it would make sense that he wanted to battle his way through the injury last fall.
