Dylan Wonnum, South Carolina veteran starter, shares 2022 plans

Dylan Wonnum delivered some good news for Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday. The veteran starter is coming back for another season.

Wonnum has played 32 games over 4 seasons without a redshirt, but due to the NCAA’s COVID waiver, he can play a fifth season in Columbia. Due to the pandemic, the NCAA did not count the 2020 season against athletes’ 4 full seasons of eligibility.
Hale McGranahan of The Big Spur notes that Wonnum, a veteran starter at right tackle, missed the second half of the 2021 season with a lower back injury. He last played on Oct. 9 against Tennessee.
