The 2019 recruiting cycle isn’t over yet, as players who didn’t sign during the recent early signing period can still wait until National Signing Day in February to send in their letters of intent.

However, many squads around the country are already focusing on their 2020 classes, and with some great success, too.

As things currently stand, Alabama has the nation’s No. 1 2020 class (no surprise there) and nine SEC squads find themselves in the current top-20 standings, per the 247Sports composite:

  • No. 1 — Alabama
  • No. 2 — LSU
  • No. 3 — Florida
  • No. 8 — Texas A&M
  • No. 9 — Georgia
  • No. 12 — Auburn
  • No. 16 — Mississippi State
  • No. 17 — South Carolina
  • No. 20 — Tennessee
  • No. 35 — Ole Miss
  • No. 42 — Kentucky
  • No. 44 — Mizzou
  • No. 49 — Vanderbilt

Some of these groups only have one player at the moment (and Arkansas has yet to land a 2020 commitment), but the Crimson Tide have a whopping 11 commits already.

Naturally, there’s still a lot of work left to be done by all of these schools, but this is a good look at where things stand heading into the 2019 calendar year.
