LSU coach Ed Orgeron announced Thursday that outside linebacker Ray Thornton will be suspended for violating team rules.
There is no timetable for Thornton to return to the team.
Thornton recorded three tackles, including one solo in LSU’s first four games. Last season, he posted 21 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack.
It’s unclear how Thornton violated team rules, but it’s not at all uncommon for a program to keep the actual violation under wraps. LSU will host Utah State at 12 pm ET on Saturday.
