Ed Orgeron pleased with LSU’s performance against Georgia Southern, looks ahead to upcoming trip to Texas
LSU could not have asked for a better start to the season as the Tigers completely dismantled Georgia State on the way to a 55-3 win in the season opener. Joe Burrow set the school record for touchdown passes in a single game with five and the Tigers are marching on toward a trip to Texas in Austin next weekend.
Following the game, Ed Orgeron shared the following comments on his team’s performance.
on his team’s performance:
“There was no signs of a let up or not being focused. I could see the look of our players: they were ready to go.”
on Joe Burrow:
“You know we have a great scheme. I thought Joe (Burrow) was on fire. Great concepts going on tonight.”
on his running backs:
“We have five capable backs, and we’re going to play them all.”
on the status of Saahdiq Charles moving forward:
“Saahdiq is going to be ready to go next week.”
on why linebacker Michael Divinity did not play in the game:
“We handle all that in-house.”
on LSU’s offense:
“The scheme is a lot better this year. We have answers. We know we can throw the ball.”
on the upcoming Texas game:
“We’re going to need to be better.”
