Ed Orgeron discusses his LSU tenure nearing an end, updates Sage Ryan’s status
The SEC’s final weekly coaches teleconference of the 2021 season took place Wednesday, and when it was LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s turn to speak there were plenty of questions about his tenure in Baton Rouge coming to an end.
“I said I’m going to enjoy every day, obviously,” Orgeron said. “… Being able to coach at LSU, there are so many memorable games, memorable players, the crowds, the fans, the championship, but really, it was just every day coming to work getting to coach the Tigers.”
Orgeron also aded that one of the things he’ll miss most is his weekly radio show.
“It’s been fun,” said Orgeron of his show. “I’ve enjoyed it. There’s a lot of regulars there. … I’m so appreciative of seeing them. … It’s been like a farewell, like a party. It’s something I enjoy and I enjoy the ribs after, too.”
There was some football discussion as well Wednesday, as Orgeron provided an update on injured safety Sage Ryan.
“I think he may play,” Orgeron said. “We may need to see how he does during the week but indications are he will play.”

The Tigers, who are 4-6 on the season, need to win their final 2 games of the season to qualify for a bowl.
They play Louisiana Monroe on Saturday at home.
