Ed Orgeron discusses reasons Bo Nix presented so many challenges for LSU defense

Bo Nix was the key to Auburn’s victory over LSU to improve to 4-1 on the season.
It wasn’t so much his passing performance that lead his team to its first win in Baton Rogue since 1999. It was LSU’s inability to contain him on the ground as he ran for 74 yards on 12 attempts. He also somehow escaped a sure sack to complete his only touchdown pass of the day, a ball that was put up out of desperation and landed in the arms of Tyler Fromm.
Ed Orgeron looked back on the defense’s struggles containing Nix when asked about it on his weekly call-in radio show on Wednesday.
“With the quarterback, it’s all about angles. It’s all about not jumping,” Orgeron said, according to Jerit Roser. “Sometimes we jumped when we shouldn’t have jumped. Sometimes we took the wrong angle. And other times he just made some plays.”
LSU will look to get back in the win column on Saturday, but it will do so against a 5-0 Kentucky team that’s fresh off an upset of Florida. Kickoff from Kroger Field is at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.
