LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron was none too pleased over the Tigers’ offensive effort in last weekend’s 10-0 loss to Alabama.
Alabama held LSU to only 125 yards of total offense. Known as a running team, the Tigers managed only 33 yards on 27 carries. Running back Leonard Fournette accrued 35 yards on 17 carries — equating to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry.
QB Danny Etling didn’t fare much better — as he was harassed and pummeled all evening long. The Purdue transfer finished 11-of-24 for 92 yards and an interception.
Orgeron addressed the offensive struggles on Monday during a press conference:
Coach O: "The game plan called for us giving Leonard the ball as much as he could." #LSU

Coach O was asked if QB Etling was nervous: "It seemed like it. It was totally unlike his character." #LSU

Interestingly enough, Orgeron also spoke about Alabama LT Cam Robinson. Considered a potential top-5 pick in next year’s NFL Draft, Robinson hails from the state of Louisiana.
Should Orgeron get the full-time gig in Baton Rouge, it doesn’t appear as if he’ll allow the cream of the crop to leave the state:
Coach O on recruiting O-Linemen: "The left tackle at Alabama (Cam Robinson) should be here. We have to get bigger and stronger."
