Ed Orgeron recaps LSU’s spring camp, continues to praise progression of the offense
At this point, if LSU’s offense doesn’t put on a show this weekend during the spring game, many Tiger fans are going to be disappointed.
That’s due to the fact that nearly every opportunity Ed Orgeron has had to talk up LSU’s offense, the head coach in Baton Rouge has taken full advantage of every moment to do just that.
With starting quarterback Joe Burrow and the entire LSU receiving corps returning from last season, there’s plenty of reason to believe the Tigers will finally take the next step when it comes to its passing game. According to Coach O, that’s what he’s been seeing on the practice field this spring.
Here’s what Orgeron had to say is standing out the most with spring camp nearing its conclusion in Baton Rouge.
“The efficiency of our offense, the great job of Coach Ensminger and Coach Brady, the play of Joe Burrow and Myles Brennen, I think those guys have been excellent all spring,” Orgeron says in the video below. “The effort our coaching staff has put in, very proud of them.”
Since taking over the head coaching job in Baton Rouge, Orgeron has expressed his desire to bring an explosive and entertaining offense to LSU and now he claims the Tigers finally have that heading into 2019.
“They’ve done fantastic. We had a 74 percent completion percentage rating on Saturday after the game, I think that’s excellent for our football team,” he said. “They are throwing the ball, making the right calls and the receivers are doing a lot better job catching the ball.”
