LSU QB Joe Burrow has emerged as the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy, and for good reason.
He’s having a dominant season, and is leading the No. 1 team in the country. After a solid, but not outstanding, 2018 season, he’s taken a major step forward.
During his radio show on Wednesday night, coach Ed Orgeron joked that he thinks Burrow plays better after he gets hit a couple of times, so he’s going to start hitting him in the locker room before games:
Coach O on Joe Burrow:
It seems like when he gets hit it fires him up. So what I’m going to do is get him hit in the locker room before the game.
I believe he’s the greatest quarterback in the country. He’s a great young man. We love him.#LSU— Scott Rabalais (@RabalaisAdv) October 31, 2019
It’s also notable that he said Burrow is the greatest quarterback in the country, and it’s tough to argue with Coach O.
Will Burrow win the Heisman? There’s still a month of the regular season left, but if he closes out the year strong, it’ll be interesting to see how Heisman voters vote.
