The LSU Tigers won against Syracuse on Saturday night, but it wasn’t exactly the dominant effort many fans were hoping for.

Senior QB Danny Etling threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, but freshman QB Myles Brennan also saw some action, completing four of his six pass attempts for 75 yards and throwing an interception in the process.

Though Brennan got his first collegiate action on Saturday, coach Ed Orgeron said on Monday that there is no quarterback controversy in Baton Rouge.

He said that Etling would continue to serve as the Tigers’ starting quarterback:

As LSU takes on Troy, the offense will look to take another step forward under first-year offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

It will be interesting to see if Brennan gets to play for another series or two in that game before SEC play starts up again in Week 6.
