Ed Orgeron knows that LSU put up a fight and then some in a narrow loss at Alabama on Saturday, 20-14.
LSU used a fake punt early in the game, and then cut it to 6 points with a touchdown with 2:27 remaining, but couldn’t finish the upset. Max Johnson was 16-for-32 passing for 160 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception.
LSU fell to 4-5 with the loss.

Ed Orgeron: “I truly thought we were the better team tonight. We came up a couple plays short.” He wished LSU had a better offensive plan in the second half.

Ed Orgeron said he told Garrett Nussmeier that if he’s going to play him he wants it to be for significant snaps, not just a handful of plays, which is why Nussmeier never saw the field tonight.

Ed Orgeron said LSU sent a “zero blitz” on Cam Lewis’ strip-sack late in the fourth quarter. LSU hasn’t run that this season. The call was part of eight different defenses LSU installed last week.
