Ed Orgeron maintains that he wants to coach again.

Orgeron made headlines when he appeared on Pardon My Take in August and told the show he’s was “getting the itch again.”

I think it’s time,” Orgeron told the Barstool Sports show. “I’m feeling it a little bit. Haven’t made the decision totally, but I’ve got my boys settled, coaching football now. It’s been four years since I’ve been out. I’m getting the itch again.

Recently, Orgeron attended the stadium naming ceremony for former LSU linebacker Patrick Queen in Livonia. Orgeron was asked by Jacques Doucet of WAFB-TV if he still wants to coach. Doucet also asked if Orgeron would be open to being an assistant again, or if he’s set on being a head coach.

“All depends what the best thing available is,” Ed Orgeron said. “But I’m ready to coach again. I left a little bit of meat on the bone. I’m ready to go.”

Orgeron, 64, was an active coach from 1984 to 2021. He coached defensive linemen at multiple college stops throughout his career and with the New Orleans Saints in 2008. Orgeron has a 67-47 record as a head coach at Ole Miss, USC and LSU.

Many college football fans are curious to see if Orgeron makes a return to the sidelines.
