Ed Orgeron is preparing for his first game as LSU’s interim head coach, but it remains to be seen if he will have the team’s top player available.
Leonard Fournette, the Tigers’ star running back, appeared to reinjure an ankle injury in Saturday’s loss to Auburn and has not been practicing this week.
“He’ll try to play,” Orgeron said on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “Game-time decision.”
Whether Fournette plays or not, Orgeron said he expects his team to play with a lot of emotion against Missouri on Saturday night. He said he doesn’t want his team to focus on offense, defense or special teams this weekend but to play as one unit.
“One team, one heartbeat,” Orgeron said.
LSU’s stout defense will have its work cut out for it on Saturday, when they face one of the emerging quarterbacks in the SEC, Drew Lock.
