Thursday was a big day for Missouri linebacker Chance May.

After walking on to the program under Barry Odom in 2017, May was primary used as a depth option during his tenure with the Tigers, seeing some time in 2019 against Southeast Missouri.

On Thursday, he received some big news as head coach Eli Drinkwitz announced that the linebacker from Kansas City, Mo. had been placed on scholarship.

It’s always a great feeling to see a student-athlete’s hard work get rewarded, along with the reaction from him and his teammates when he earns that long-awaited and long hoped-for scholarship

May and the Tigers open their season and the 2nd year of the Drinkwitz era, on Saturday as they welcome Central Michigan to Faurot Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET, and the game can be seen on the SEC Network.
