Eli Drinkwitz confirmed that Chad Bailey’s season is over after reinjuring what plagued the Missouri linebacker over the summer.
Bailey has missed time this season, appearing in 5 games for the Tigers. He accounted for 17 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. Bailey last played against Kentucky on Oct. 14.
Bailey will continue to help the team and is going to get a second opinion. Drinkwitz hopes that Bailey can become healthy enough in the future to still have a chance of playing in the NFL.
“Chad has had a reoccurrence of that injury that he had in the summer. We’re gonna do what’s in the best interest of him, so he’s gonna be out the rest of the season,” said Drinkwitz. “He’s gonna continue to help out as best as he can with being in meetings and helping coach linebackers. He’s gonna go get a second opinion on what’s best for him. Hopefully we can get him healthy enough to pursue his dream of playing at the next level.”
Losing a veteran like Bailey to injury hurts, but he just wasn’t able to stay healthy this season.
