Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers have a huge game on Saturday when they face No. 3 Texas A&M in Columbia. Last year the two teams played in College Station, and the Aggies won that game 41-10.
While the Aggies were a good team last season, Drinkwitz knows they are even better this year.
“That team last year whipped our butt,” Eli Drinkwitz said on the SEC teleconference. “They came out hungry and took it to us.
“Are they better? Yeah.”
The Aggies enter this game undefeated and are coming off a bye after beating LSU 49-25 two weeks ago. Marcel Reed’s development has played a big role in the Aggies being even better. He has thrown for 1,972 and 17 touchdowns, while also rushing for 349 yards and six more scores.
The defense is also a lot better this season, as Cashius Howell is making things very difficult for opposing quarterbacks with 9.5 sacks.
The Tigers will be starting freshman Matt Zollers at quarterback after Beau Pribula suffered an injury against Vanderbilt.
This is a big game for both teams. Missouri is No. 22 in the College Football Playoff rankings, and if the Tigers were able to run the table to end the year, they could sneak into the playoffs. The Aggies are in position for one of the first-round byes, as well as a spot in the SEC Championship game.
