Eli Drinkwitz led his team to an incredible win over Kansas State on a 61-yard game-winning field goal from Harrison Mevis. Missouri went on to win 30-27 in Columbia and Drinkwitz was understandably emotional at the post-game interview after his team battled.

Despite a delay of game penalty that moved the field goal attempt back, the Tigers walked away with a win thanks to the leg of Mevis.

Drinkwitz credited players like Brady Cook and Mevis who made plays with all the noise.

“So proud of my guys. Brady Cook hurt, comes back, plays his butt off, puts us in a situation, Harrison Mevis,” said Drinkwitz. “All the noise, just makes a 61-yarder, our defense played tough. Just a, woo, this one’s a big one.”

The Missouri head coach was especially proud of Cook and praised the toughness of the Tigers’ quarterback.

“He’s a tough kid, fortunate to have him as our quarterback,” said Drinkwitz. “Appreciate the fans, thank you Lord.”

Missouri avenged last season’s loss to Kansas State in Manhattan. What a win for Drinkwitz and the program.

Missouri is back home against Memphis in Week 4. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
