Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers moved to 3-0 on the season with a tough, 27-21 victory against No. 24 Boston College on Saturday in Columbia.
The Tigers were down 14-3 in the 2nd quarter, but played very well the rest of the way to pull out the victory.
During the game, the Tigers offense found itself in a situation that doesn’t happen too often, as they were facing a 2-and-59 situation. Here is the exact scenario.
The entire sequence that resulted in an almost unimaginable 2nd and 59 for Missouri earlier in the game against Boston College:

It started with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by Luther Burden III to make it 2nd and 25. An illegal man downfield penalty made it 2nd and 30, and then 2 personal foul penalties by Burden and Mehki Miller made it 2nd and 59.
During the game, former Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel tweeted making a joke about the situation, and Drinkwitz responded.

Burden finally had a big game for Missouri, finishing with 6 catches for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. However, those penalties will be the talking points as the team moves onto next week.
The Tigers will open up SEC play next week against Vanderbilt next Saturday in Columbia.
