Eli Drinkwitz and No. 21 Missouri will attempt to remain undefeated when they host No. 23 LSU in Week 6. A major factor for the 5-0 start is the stellar play of junior quarterback Brady Cook.

Cook has passed for 1,468 yards, 11 touchdowns, and no interceptions this season. During a recent press conference, Eli Drinkwitz marveled at the poise of his quarterback to not throw an interception yet.

In his most recent outing, Cook went 33-for-31 for 395 yards and 4 touchdowns at Vanderbilt.

“Smart disciplined decision-making at the quarterback position is a kind of hallmark of success,” Drinkwitz said. “It’s actually the second time in my career that I’ve had somebody around that number, Ryan Finley at NC State between 16 and 17, I think he ended up 3rd in all-time ACC history. So Brady’s doing the same thing.”

Drinkwitz realizes the streak won’t last forever but appreciates the superb level of ball security displayed so far from Cook.

“It’s really good, at some point he’s going to throw one,” Drinkwitz said. “It’s just a matter of when, but he’s been very good at valuing the ball and knowing when to try to put it in tight places, and when not. So proud of him for doing that.”

LSU at Missouri is slated for a 12 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday (ESPN).
