Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers went to Nashville on Saturday afternoon and picked up a much-needed 37-28 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.
But, the win had a bit of a damper put on it when, late in the game, QB Connor Bazelak left the game with an injury.
After the game, Drinkwitz spoke with the media. He said he believes it is likely a soft tissue injury, but added that more would be known early next week:
Connor Bazelak's injury is probably a soft tissue injury, per coach Drinkwitz.
Said the decision to turn to Macon was "situational." Might've gone with Cook in a different situation.

Freshman QB Tyler Macon came in and had a touchdown run. But, Drinkwitz didn’t necessarily name Macon QB2 behind Bazelak. He said in a different situation, Brady Cook could have entered the game.
Drinkwitz also said he has no idea who would start at Georgia next week if Bazelak can’t go:
Asked who would start at QB if Connor Bazelak can't play next week, Drinkwitz says "I have no idea."

As for what Macon brought to the table, Drinkwitz said the situation called for a QB who could run, which Macon can do better than Cook:
Drinkwitz on putting in Macon for Bazelak who he says he thinks has a soft tissue injury.
“At the end of the game it felt like we were going to need some quarterback runs potentially.”

Macon didn’t attempt a pass, running 2 times for 8 yards and a touchdown.
The Tigers head to No. 1 Georgia next week. That game will be even tougher if Bazelak can’t play.
