Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers traveled to Tuscaloosa in Week 9 to try and upset the Alabama Crimson Tide. The game didn’t go as planned for the Tigers, however, as the Tide won the game 34-0.

On Monday, Alabama’s social media team put out a poster celebrating the win. The poster shows the final score as well as pictures of some of Alabama’s top performers from the game. However, the phrase that was used for the poster is almost certainly a jab at Drinkwitz.

“Stood on business,” is written in bold black letters above the final score.

If you’re missing context, Drinkwitz had a testy postgame exchange with Tennessee’s Josh Heupel in 2023 after the Tigers secured a 36-7 win. Drinkwitz told Heupel “We stand on business, Josh,” before walking away and reuniting with his team.

It’s unclear why Alabama would get involved in the beef, but it feels a bit too specific to be just a coincidence. Regardless, the Tide got the last laugh on and off the field against the Tigers.

Drinkwitz’s squad was without several key players, including quarterback Brady Cook and running back Nate Noel. The Tigers’ offense was unable to hang around without their stars, mustering just 239 total yards of offense.

With the win, the Tide improved to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in SEC play. Meanwhile, the Tigers fell to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Both the Tigers and Tide will have a bye week in Week 10 as they gear up for the final stretch of conference play.
