Groves is listed at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds out of East Robertson High School in Cross Plains, Tennessee. With interesting length for the LB position, Groves is rated a 4-star prospect and the 30th LB in the country per the 247 Sports Composite.
Though rated as a linebacker, Groves has made plays defensively at LB, Edge and in the defensive backfield as evidenced by his Hudl highlights.
Impact on Kentucky’s 2024 recruiting class
Kentucky’s recruiting class has been off to a somewhat slow start entering July, but Groves would be an elite addition no matter when he commits. He immediately becomes the second-highest-ranked prospect in the class of the Wildcats as things currently stand.
Cutter Boley — an in-state QB and 4-star prospect — is the headliner of Kentucky’s recruiting class, a group that currently ranks 55th nationally per the 247 Sports Team Composite.
