South Carolina is well on the way to building a strong tradition of talented arms on Will Muschamp’s roster in Columbia as the Gamecocks have landed yet another commitment from an elite signal caller prospect.
The latest commitment for the Gamecocks comes from 2020 in-state prospect Luke Doty. South Carolina already holds a commitment from arguably the nation’s top QB prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle from Ryan Hilinski.
Doty, a Myrtle Beach native, has selected South Carolina over scholarship offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida State, Louisville, Miami and Virginia Tech. According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Doty ranks as the No. 6 dual-threat QB in the nation and the No. 305 overall prospect for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
He publicly announced his commitment on Tuesday with the following post on Twitter:
