Florida currently has one defensive lineman committed in the 2019 class (4-star DT Jaelin Humphries). With the position group considered an area of need, Dan Mullen and his staff are looking to add to that number.
Adding another 4-star defensive lineman would go a long way. This weekend, 4-star recruit Siaki Ika, rated the No. 11 defensive tackle in the country, visited UF. Ika is currently committed to BYU, but the recruiting experts on 247Sports don’t expect that pledge to stick. The Crystal Ball leader for Ika is Alabama with 53 percent of the predictions. The three most recent Crystal Balls, however, have him going to LSU.
It might be a longshot for Mullen and company to flip him, but Ika’s tweet after visiting Gainesville hints that the Gators could be in the mix. Ika has also shown interest in Oregon and Utah.
Thanks for having me Gainesville💯📍 Definitely have some things to think about👀🤫 T’was a great weekend🧡💙🐊
