Top national quarterback prospect Emory Jones just filled out his application with Ohio State, so he’s definitely planning to be a Buckeye, right?
Well, maybe not. Although he did fill out an Ohio State application, he’s also getting ready to visit Alabama on Saturday, according to a report from BamaOnLine247.
Jones is a four-star, dual-threat quarterback out of Franklin (Ga.) Heard County, according to the 247Sports Composite.
“I’m not sure yet when his Ohio State official visit will be,” Heard County head coach Tim Barron said. “He’s going to visit Alabama this weekend. As far as I know that is an unofficial visit. He’s just going to the Ole Miss game.”
Jones’ high school coach still believes the talented QB will be a Buckeye.
“Yesterday Emory was filling out his Ohio State application,” Barron said. “In all my conversations with him he has never told me he is going in any direction other than Ohio State. He is not the kind of kid out there shopping around. He has a great opportunity to watch some great football games.”
All indications point to Jones playing for Urban Meyer. But if there’s any coach Meyer doesn’t want in his ear before signing day, it’s probably Nick Saban.
