Elite Texas DB prospect Marcus Banks commits to Alabama over Texas A&M during All-American Bowl
The nation’s No. 1 recruiting class just got better as Houston native Marcus Banks announced his decision to join Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class during the 2019 All-American Bowl. Banks chose the Crimson Tide over Texas A&M.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Banks had long been considered a lean to the Aggies, but in the end, the pull to play defensive back for Nick Saban must have been too much to pass up on for the native of Dekaney High School. Banks’ pledge to Alabama gives the Tide four commitments heading into National Signing Day, with 23 players already signed as 2019 prospects during the early signing period.
Banks is rated as nation’s No. 21 cornerback prospect and the No. 189 overall recruit in the nation by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Florida and Florida State were also among the programs making a run at Banks leading up to his final decision. Banks had been an LSU commit, previously.
