Elite WR recruit Tyquan Thornton decommits from Florida, flips to Baylor

Florida is moving forward under Dan Mullen, but the Gators recruiting class for 2018 took a big hit Saturday night.

Tyquan Thornton, a 4-star WR out of Miami, Florida, announced that he has flipped his commitment from the Gators and is now committed to Baylor. Thornton is listed at 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds and is listed as the No. 50 WR for the class of 2018 on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Thornton is an intriguing blend of size and speed that would have been a nice addition to Mullen’s offense.

The Gators still have plenty of time to land a solid recruiting class, but they have definitely taken a bit of a hit recently. QB Matt Corral flipped from Florida to Ole Miss earlier this week, and now Thornton is headed to Baylor.
