Elyiss Williams is a 5-star recruit and one of the top prospects nationally for the 2025 recruiting class. On Saturday, he announced his commitment, opting to stay in SEC country to begin his college career.

A 6-foot-7 and 235-pound athlete out of Charlton County High School in Folkston, Georgia, Williams announced a commitment to Kirby Smart’s UGA program. Williams holds a host of Power 5 offers, including from around the SEC in Auburn, Florida, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee at the time of his commitment.

Williams is rated as a 5-star prospect and the 13th overall recruit in the country per the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. The system also rates Williams as the top Edge prospect for the class of 2025, but it looks like Williams has plans to suit up with the Bulldog offense.

Williams’ primary recruiter was Todd Hartley, Georgia’s TEs coach under Kirby Smart. Hartley also helped recruit Darnell Washington — a 5-star ATH in the 2020 recruiting class — to Athens.

Williams is already Georgia’s 5th commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, and 3 of those players are 5-star prospects.

Whether he sticks with offense or winds up on defense, Williams has the size and athletic ability to make a difference. Here’s a look at what he can do on the field via his Hudl highlights:
