Embarrassing AP Poll voter error leads to 5-8 Georgia receiving votes
By Adam Spencer

Sometimes, the AP Poll features some head-scratching teams being ranked, due to errors made by the voters.
This week’s men’s hoops poll was one of those times, as 5-8 Georgia found itself mentioned in the “also receiving votes” section.
The Bulldogs should be nowhere near the top 25, but according to Jared Berson of ESPN Stats & Info, one voter accidentally voted Georgia, not Gonzaga, into the top 5:
Two equally astonishing takeaways from today’s AP Poll:
– Only 1 ACC team received a vote (Duke) for the first time over the last 40 years
– Somebody apparently voted Georgia into the Top-5 instead of Gonzaga, and as a result, 5-8 Georgia is your “30th-ranked” team.

Obviously, that seems to be an easy mistake to correct, but so far, the AP has kept Georgia’s votes intact.
It seems safe to say that, barring some other incredible error, the poll next week won’t feature Georgia anymore.
