Emeka Egbuka and Baker Mayfield connected for a 2nd-quarter touchdown, the first of the former Ohio State wide receiver’s career.

Late in the 4th quarter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback found the rookie wideout once more.

Moments after converting a 3rd-and-9 from midfield, Mayfield fired one incomplete at the Atlanta 40. But a Ruke Orhorhoro roughing the passer penalty put the ball at the 25.

On the next play, Mayfield threw it to the end zone to Egbuka, who hauled it in for his second touchdown of the game to give the Bucs a 23-20 lead with 57 seconds remaining in regulation. Despite missing the ensuing extra point, the Bucs went on to win the game after Younghoe Koo missed a 44-yard game-tying field goal.

Here’s the late scoring play:

That reception gave Egbuka 4 catches for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was on the other end of a 30-yarder from Mayfield with less than 7 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.

The No. 15 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft has had a fine start to his NFL career. And it happened in the same building where he and Ohio State won the national championship over Notre Dame just over 7 months ago.
