Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been named the 2015 Comeback Player of the Year by Pro Football Writers of America.

Berry, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma during the 2014 season on Dec. 8, returned for the start of this season and played in every game, while being named a First-Team All-Pro for a second time and making the Pro Bowl for a third time.

Berry recorded 61 tackles, 10 passes defended and 2 interceptions, including a third interception in the team’s 30-0 playoff win over the Houston Texans on Jan. 9.

Berry was the fifth overall pick by the Chiefs out of the University of Tennessee in 2010.
