The SEC is a top-heavy league this year, with 3 teams looking like potential College Football Playoff contenders — Alabama, Texas A&M and Florida.

Georgia is also a great team, but losses to the Crimson Tide and Gators have put a damper on their Playoff plans.

After the SEC’s Week 8 action, ESPN analyst Chris Low ranked his top 25 teams. As you can see below, he has 5 SEC squads in the rankings, led by Alabama at No. 1:

  • No. 1 — Alabama
  • No. 5 — Texas A&M
  • No. 6 — Florida
  • No. 12 — Georgia
  • No. 23 — Auburn

There are plenty of big games remaining on the SEC schedule, so we’ll see how these rankings are impacted after Week 9 action. Hopefully, more than 3 games can be played this coming Saturday!
