Jay Boice of ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight published this shortly after the teams and seedings were announced on Dec. 6.
According to FiveThirtyEight’s model, it’s the No. 4 seed, Oklahoma, that has the best chance of coming away with the national championship. Meanwhile, Alabama has a slightly better shot than the Sooners to reach the final.
TEAM | PCT CHANCE OF MAKING FINAL | PCT CHANCE OF WINNING FINAL |
---|---|---|
Oklahoma | 66% | 41% |
Alabama | 68% | 34% |
Clemson | 34% | 15% |
Michigan State | 32% | 10% |
