When Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton danced in the end zone after his touchdown run against the Tennessee Titans back on Nov. 15, he got a lot of criticism for it.

A lot.

One mom even wrote a scathing letter to the Charlotte Observer not long after that.

His touchdown celebration became a hot topic on several programs around the country, and a national debate ensued over its excessiveness, a topic also  covered by ESPN’s “First Take.”

On Monday, ESPN’s Robert Flores questioned his own network among others for their coverage of the topic. While showing a highlight of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 30-22 win over the Buffalo Bills, Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had his own dance number after a 15-yard TD reception, and Flores called out what he views as a double standard. Flores took the time to bluntly comment that Kelce doesn’t get flack for that “because he’s not black.”

Whether the network will decide to suspend Flores has yet to be seen.
