ESPN’s KC Joyner endeared himself to Georgia fans today when he named the Bulldogs as a sleeper to reach the College Football Playoff.

In an interview on The Paul Finebaum Show, Joyner said the Bulldogs’ depth gives them a chance to rise to the top of the SEC:

“They have a deeper roster and they’ve got a larger chance, a better chance, than any of these other teams,” Joyner says in the video.

Joyner also compares Georgia’s recent recruiting to Ohio State and draws the conclusion that the Bulldogs are no slouches in that department:

“They’ve got an elite recruiting history,” he continues. “Over the last four years, they’re tied for third, Georgia is, in the number of ESPN 300 recruits.”

The Bulldogs open their season on Saturday, Sept. 3, against North Carolina, with their first SEC game set for Saturday, Sept. 17, at Missouri.

However, Georgia’s first real test of the season, a game that could put them on a path to the College Football Playoff, is on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Ole Miss.
