Lee Corso’s legendary career at ESPN is coming to a close late next month. Before he says farewell to College GameDay, the Worldwide Leader made sure to recognize Corso at the 2025 ESPYS.

The show aired a tribute video filled with highlights from Corso’s 38 years as a broadcaster. He was joined on stage by College GameDay colleagues Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee and Desmond Howard. Since the show is in Los Angeles, the ESPYS were able to get the USC band to come play for Corso.

It was announced earlier this year that Corso will do one final College GameDay before retiring. The traveling pregame show is heading to Columbus, Ohio for the highly anticipated Week 1 showdown between defending national champion Ohio State and Texas. Preseason rankings aren’t out yet, but the rematch from the College Football Playoff may feature two top-5 teams.

It’s a full circle moment for Corso. Columbus was the site of his first headgear pick on Oct. 5, 1996. Corso, who turns 90 in August, has gone with the Buckeyes 45 times in headgear picks over the years, more than any other team.

College football won’t be the same without Lee Corso making picks on Saturday mornings.
