The NFL Draft is only a couple months away and ESPN is predicting the landing spots for a pair of Tennessee defensive backs.

ESPN is projecting both standout cornerbacks to go in the first round. In the latest mock draft, Jermod McCoy is at No. 11 to the Miami Dolphins while Colton Hood is the No. 13 pick to the Los Angeles Rams.

McCoy sustained a torn ACL last offseason, which forced him to miss all of the 2025 campaign. However, theย 6-foot, 193-poundย McCoy tallied four interceptions in 2024, which could convince a team like the Dolphins to draft him in the upper level of the first round.

McCoy spent one season at Oregon State before transferring to Tennessee. McCoy was considered as the No. 14 cornerback in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

Hood recorded 34 solo tackles, a forced fumble, interception, and eight pass deflections this season. The 6-foot 195-pound Hood followed that up with an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl to further cement his standing as a potential first round pick. Hood played a season each at Auburn and Colorado before his lone year at Tennessee. When he transferred to Tennessee, he was the No. 52 cornerback in the portal according to 247Sports.

We’ll see if it’s back-to-back years for the Volunteers with first round selections. James Pearce Jr. was a first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
