The college football community was alarmed on Monday when Mark Richt shared the news that he had suffered a heart attack.
On Friday, ESPN PR and the ACC Network shared a video message from Richt with an update on his health. The video is directed at Richt’s ACC Network colleagues, sharing that he’s disappointed he won’t be joining them in the studio for Week 9 of the 2019 season. Richt also had some good news to share in the video. He hopes to be back next week.
“Looking forward to next week, I should be able to be there (in the studio),” Richt says in the video. “Everything seems to be going well, I feel really good.”
Richt ended his video message with a joke about needing to adjust his diet and stay off his snack of choice, cheese balls.
College football fans everywhere are relieved to see Richt is recovering well and should be back on the ACC Network soon.
We miss you too, @MarkRicht! Glad to see you’re feeling better 🙌#TheHuddle pic.twitter.com/zGWYUyuMkt
