ESPN signs SEC Network analyst Chris Doering to multi-year extension

Chris Doering has become a familiar face to SEC football fans over the past few seasons as an analyst on the SEC Network. On Friday, ESPN announced that it has signed Doering to a multi-year extension.
“I’ve been blessed to be around the Southeastern Conference my entire life: as a kid watching the Gators, in Gainesville as a player, and now covering the conference like I do,” Doering said in a release. “I just have so much love for the SEC and for the people that I get to work with at SEC Network, and that was magnified even more over the past six months with the pandemic. Signing this new deal and returning to the SEC Network studios today, I have a higher level of appreciation for what I get to do every weekend with these guys.”
Doering joined ESPN in August 2015 as a studio analyst after previously contributing to SEC Network+ events and ESPN specials. ESPN PR says Doering will continue to appear on the SEC Network’s “SEC Now” on Fridays and Saturdays as well as “SEC This Morning” on Mondays at 8 a.m. ET.
Doering was a wide receiver for Steve Spurrier’s Florida Gators from 1991-95, helping UF to three SEC titles and earning first-team All-SEC and second-team All-American honors in his final season. Doering was an NFL journeyman from 1996-2006.
